Modum Chem chemical injection metering control system reduces your chemical injection usage and environmental impact while maintaining flow assurance.

The valve system measures and controls the flow rate of chemicals passing through it to maintain an optimal target flow rate set by the operator. This improves performance as compared with traditional injection rate control devices. The technology also enables remote adjustments to accommodate changing well, surface, and system conditions. To achieve these goals, the system integrates an ultrasonic flowmeter, a flow controller, a needle valve, and an LCD.

Operate manually or automatically to meet your goals

You can select from three modes of operation:

• Manual standby mode, which enables you to jog the valve position by a relative position increment; this mode is recommended only for commissioning.
• Automatic position control mode, which functions as a conventional chemical injection valve: Set the valve position, and the valve will not move, regardless of injection rate changes.
• Automatic flow control mode, in which you set your optimal flow rate and an allowable drift range. If the rate falls outside of the drift range, the system automatically modulates the integrated needle valve to maintain the target rate.

Simplify surface equipment for multiwell pads

Conventional chemical injection applications typically require a chemical reservoir, pump, control device, and flowmeter for each injection point. Modum Chem system replaces both the control device and the flowmeter. The accurate control means operators can use a single reservoir and pump to inject chemicals into a multiwell system, with valves regulating injection into each well.

The compact design facilitates integration into skid packages or wellsite infrastructure without significant modifications to your existing chemical injection system.

The system’s flow controller can be connected to your existing SCADA system or a Schlumberger AgoraGateway ruggedized edge computing device to enable remote monitoring.
