Full-Waveform Inversion
High-resolution velocity models
Derive high-resolution velocity and anisotropy models from seismic data using a two-way wave equation.
Illuminate the subsurface with approximately 200 outer continental shelf blocks of ultralong-offset, Elastic full-waveform inversion ocean bottom node data.
SLB announces the expansion of our ultralong-offset, Elastic full-waveform inversion (EFWI) ocean-bottom node (OBN) multiclient programs in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Engagement 6 acquisition is in progress, covering approximately 200 outer continental shelf (OCS) blocks and extending the SLB contiguous ultralong-offset OBN data over approximately 1,200 OCS blocks, from Walker Ridge and Green Canyon, through to Mississippi Canyon.
SLB continues to build on its industry-leading Engagement FWI workflows. SLB processing of Engagement 6 incorporates EFWI at a regional scale, delivering unprecedented insights into this highly prospective location.
SLB will deliver the first EFWI images from this new project in Q4 2024, with final products available in Q3 2025.
