Software Engineers

Use your software expertise to shape the future of energy. We are looking for world-class professionals eager to apply their skills to projects involving the latest software and hardware innovations aimed at meeting the next generation of world energy needs.

Software drives everything we do at Schlumberger. Here are some of the kinds of projects you may work on as a Schlumberger software engineer.
  • Subsurface virtual reality: Combining and processing data, applying spatial, temporal and other algorithms that result in multidimensional datasets representing the vast volumes of the world's subsurface. Developing office-based virtual reality environments and interacting with them, both as 2D observers and 3D participants, using hi-tech sensory gloves and goggles.
  • Environmental: Developing 3D visualizations and animation of groundwater, environmental data and contaminant transport modeling in an easy-to-use graphical user interface.
  • Embedded software: Gaining insight into the low-level functionality of a digital system as you create software applications that are tightly coupled to the hardware on which they run. Developing software to control sophisticated electronics, pushing the limits in extreme conditions with high temperature, shock and vibration challenges.
  • Signal processing and telemetry: Developing systems for downhole and wellsite communication. Optimizing data rates and data integrity through cutting edge technologies and techniques, largely in collaboration with internal and external research entities.
  • Real-time data delivery and monitoring: Developing real-time data solutions that enable clients and Schlumberger experts to virtually interpret, collaborate, and make decisions when it matters. Leveraging our remote connectivity infrastructure services, geoscience applications allowing extraction of valuable information from real-time data, drilling and interpretation software, and efficient database and platform designs.
