DesignPro artificial lift design software is used to model the artificial lift system and includes power supply analysis for electric submersible pumps (ESPs), gas lift, and surface pumps. The software can produce a very basic design for high-water-cut wells, or a complex design for high-GOR or viscous applications. DesignPro software includes routines for gas lift, ESPs, and surface pumps to analyze the effects of the surface facilities on the system. The software also has the ability to calculate harmonics downstream of the variable speed drive to determine if damaging voltage and current overshoots are being carried to the downhole equipment.
DesignPro software can be used to calculate finite element analysis on the ESP string to determine the degree of deflection of system components and assess whether it is possible for the system to pass through doglegs and operate in deviated sections.
