Resman tracer technologies
SLB continues to provide tracer technologies formerly offered under the Resman brand
2005
Resman is founded in Norway to develop chemical tracer technologies for reservoir surveillance.
2005–2025
Resman develops and deploys polymer-based tracers for production, reservoir, stimulation, geothermal, and carbon storage applications.
2026
On January 14, SLB completed the acquisition of Resman Energy Technology and integrated its wireless tracer capabilities into the SLB portfolio.
Today
Resman tracer technologies are available through the SLB well completions and reservoir surveillance portfolio.
In 2026, Resman became part of SLB and no longer operated as an independent company. Its tracer technologies, data analysis, visualization capabilities, and specialized expertise were integrated with SLB sampling, laboratory analysis, digital workflows, and reservoir models. The Resman name continues as a product mark within the SLB tracer technologies portfolio.

Frequently asked questions about Resman
Is Resman still operating?
Resman no longer operates as an independent company. SLB completed the acquisition of RESMAN Energy Technology on January 14, 2026, and now provides the tracer portfolio.
What happened to Resman, and how are its technologies supported today?
Resman was founded in Norway in 2005 and developed polymer-based chemical tracer technologies for well and reservoir surveillance. After the 2026 acquisition, the technology, analytics, and visualization capabilities were integrated into the SLB production, recovery, and reservoir surveillance portfolio.
Are Resman tracer technologies still available?
Yes. Production, reservoir, stimulation, geothermal, and CCS tracer technologies continue through the SLB tracer technologies portfolio. The Tracer Track visualization solution also remains available through SLB.
How do Resman tracer technologies work?
Tracers are embedded in completion equipment, blended into treatments, or injected into a reservoir, depending on the application. Each tracer has a unique chemical signature. Samples collected at the surface are analyzed to determine fluid movement, zonal inflow, reservoir connectivity, or treatment performance.
Where can I find current Resman products and support?
The product links above lead to the current SLB page for each Resman capability. For product availability, regional support, or service information, contact the SLB tracer surveillance team.
