ExaCT Cleanout Service
Maintain continuous operations while improving cleanout efficiency and control
Switch between milling and circulation modes in real time to improve cleanout efficiency and control.
The combined direction and inclination (D&I) module and electrical multilateral module (eMLT), part of the ExaCT™ electrical downhole CT control system, deliver real-time wellbore mapping and precise electrical multilateral entry in a single CT run, enabling faster, more efficient well intervention.
By integrating real-time D&I mapping with on-command electrical actuation, the system provides closed-loop navigation and control, allowing operators to accurately map well trajectory and immediately execute targeted lateral entry without trial and error.
Unlike conventional approaches that rely on hydraulic activation, pressure cycling, or multiple runs, this solution enables instant, selective downhole tool control, significantly reducing operational complexity in extended-reach and multilateral wells.
As part of the ExaCT access service, the combined modules streamline intervention workflows by unifying mapping, access, and execution into a single system, improving consistency and reliability across stimulation and logging operations.
Proven performance in the field:
By eliminating uncertainty in multilateral navigation and reducing the need for repeated interventions, the system improves operational efficiency, reduces risk, and increases overall intervention success rates in complex well environments.
The ExaCT D&I module and eMLT function as a fully integrated system, combining real-time directional telemetry with electrically controlled multilateral entry to enable precise, efficient CT intervention.
The D&I module continuously measures wellbore direction and inclination, transmitting real-time data to surface through the real-time downhole CT electrical and telemetry system of ACTive™ real-time downhole coiled tubing services. This provides operators with accurate, continuous insight into well trajectory, even in high-deviation and horizontal wells.
Using this live data, the eMLT executes on-command electrical actuation, guiding the BHA into the selected lateral with precision. Unlike conventional systems, this process does not require hydraulic activation, pressure cycling, or fluid pumping, enabling faster and more reliable multilateral entry. This closed-loop approach allows operators to map, confirm, and access laterals in real time, ensuring accurate placement and consistent performance in complex well geometries.
Key operational capabilities:
By combining real-time measurements, electrical telemetry, and precise downhole tool control, the system enables more efficient, predictable, and high-performance multilateral well interventions.
