How it improves performance
SulfaTreat™ 423 hydrogen sulfide removal adsorbent is a high-capacity, nonhazardous extrudate that creates low pressure drop and is engineered for purification of gas streams. During the adsorption process, water-vapor-saturated gas flows down through the adsorbent in the vessel’s bed.
H2S chemically reacts with the SulfaTreat 423 adsorbent to form a stable and nonhazardous by-product. Product consumption depends only on the amount of H2S that passes through the bed, economically matching the need for H2S removal with variations in system flow conditions, irrespective of other common components in the gas.
The adsorbent has been engineered to increase run times, significantly reduce pressure drop, and decrease the effort required to remove the spent product. Its extended life and easy removability not only save waste and disposal costs but also freight and changeout expenses. The gas must be 100% saturated with water vapor.

Handling and disposal
The product should be handled in compliance with appropriate safety measures, such as permit-to-work systems, risk assessments (e.g., job safety analysis, chemical handling assessments, and lifting studies), and applicable disposal regulations. Engaging an experienced contractor for product loading and discharge is recommended.
The spent media is nonpyrophoric. Our experts can help you determine the best option for recycling or disposing of spent material. Disposal routes are well established, and personnel are available for onsite installation and removal support as required.
Shelf life and storage
SulfaTreat 423 adsorbent is supplied in Super Sacks. Unless otherwise stated, its shelf life is a minimum of 3 years from the date of delivery, provided it is stored correctly per the specifications in the safety datasheet. It should be stored in the original unopened containers, ensuring that the top opening is properly tied off.
If a warehouse is not available, the product can be stored outside, fully covered with a waterproof and UV-proof material to prevent damage caused by exposure to water or sunlight. The storage temperature range should be 40–105 degF [5–40 degC].
