Stimulation-optimized shaped charges
Optimize fracture distribution and maximize completion efficiency
S-charges deliver uniform, consistent entrance holes to improve fracture distribution
Conventional deep-penetrating shaped charges are designed for natural completions, prioritizing penetration depth. However, they fall short in creating uniformly shaped and sized entrance holes—a critical factor for optimizing fracture distribution across perforations.
Our stimulation-optimized shaped charges (S-charges) are engineered to deliver consistently large perforation entrance holes across the wellbore azimuth, even with varying gun standoffs. Importantly, this uniformity comes without compromising penetration depth.
Consistent entrance holes significantly increase the area open to flow (AOF) for each perforation, reducing pressure drop and lowering treating pressures. This not only minimizes the risk of early screenout but also enhances fracturing efficiency while reducing operational risks.
