Grove G7 fabricated gate valve
API Spec 6D–compliant valve with a through-conduit design that promotes long-term, reliable sealing performance
Overview
Rugged and reliable through-conduit valve
The Grove™ G7 fabricated gate valve has a smaller body cavity volume compared with traditional cast gate valves. It uses two floating seats to provide a complete seal with the gate. Each seat has a metal face and a peripheral seal. The fullbore design creates the same pressure drop as an equivalent length of pipe and allows passage of all types of scrapers (pigs).
Applications
The valves are designed for a wide range of applications, including
- mainline and manifold valves
- tank and station valves
- storage wells
- meter bypass valves
- hot tap valves
- CCUS and renewable fuels service.
Benefits
Reliable performance and long life
The Grove G7 valve's through-conduit design provides the following advantages:
- smaller body cavity volume, leading to reduced product contamination
- protection of seat faces
- smooth, continuous conduit for flow
- block-and-bleed capability
- inline field repairs
- fire safe certification to API Spec 6FA and ISO 10497
- fugitive emissions certification per ISO 15848-1.
Features
- Enhanced fabricated body construction is less prone to raw material defects and can accommodate volumetric and surface nondestructive examination (NDE).
- The stem seal is a single fugitive emissions– and fire-tested SLS™ spring-loaded lip seal, which reduces maintenance requirements and eliminates the need for plastic packing.
- Spring-loaded seats relieve internal body pressure.
- Stem back seat per API Spec 6D prevents stem ejection.
- Metal-to-metal seal between the stem and bonnet in the upward position isolates the stem seal from line pressure.
- Seat and stem injection of lubricant or emergency sealant reduce operating torques, help increase valve life, and provide emergency sealing capability.
- Installation orientation is flexible.
