As an electronic engineer, I once imagined my career would revolve solely around numbers and technology. That changed about seven years ago, when I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a different field: sustainability.

Since becoming one of SLB’s social development leaders for Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru, I’ve been fortunate to work with an incredible team designing and implementing strategic social investment programs that create shared value for both the company and the communities where we operate.

Our initiatives focus on three key pillars: education, health, and support for entrepreneurship. Through these programs, I’ve witnessed firsthand how SLB’s mission—to relentlessly develop technologies that drive growth in every country where we are present—extends beyond business. It’s about doing so responsibly, in balance with the natural resources of our planet and in harmony with the communities around us.

One of the most special milestones in my career was leading my first STEM education project, which is still active today. Partnering with San Francisco de Quito University, we launched a state-of-the-art lab featuring drones, robotics, virtual reality, electronics, 3D printing, and more.

This project has supported countless workshops across our areas of influence and those of our customers, introducing teachers and students to free tools that make STEM education more inclusive and accessible.

Beyond technology, it has become a bridge connecting academia, clients, employees, and communities. It stands as a testament to what collaboration can achieve when we share a vision of empowering the next generation through innovation and education.

What inspires me most, however, is the human impact. The smiles of children discovering STEM through our workshops, the gratitude of teachers receiving new computer classrooms, the joy of entrepreneurs sharing their growth stories, and the heartfelt embraces of mothers and elders who benefit from our medical brigades—all these moments fuel my motivation to give my very best every day.

Equally inspiring is the enthusiasm of our employee volunteers, whose dedication brings these programs to life and strengthens our bond with the communities we serve.

I’m proud to be part of a company where leaders, guided by integrity and a well-defined sustainability strategy, champion initiatives that allow our communities to grow alongside us.

As SLB celebrates 100 years, I feel deeply privileged to contribute to this legacy. My personal purpose is fully aligned with the company’s purpose, and together we are continuing to build a future where innovation and community progress hand in hand.
