The Olga dynamic multiphase flow simulator is one of the principal components in the analysis of pipeline operations. The Olga simulator core can solve most of the normal challenges associated with pipeline flow, but many additional modules have been developed to better solve more specific problems. These include predictions of hydrodynamic slug behavior, advanced heat transfer, and tracking of individual components. Although these modules are nominally for pipeline flow, they can also be used in simulation of well operations.
Olga 2025.1 introduces the Olga simulator’s innovative new solver for CCS, developed through the Olga CO2 REACH joint industry project (JIP) to improve CO2 handling capabilities. This solver provides robust and accurate simulations of CO2 transport and injection, essential for the effective design and operation of CCS systems. It enables reliable and precise multiphase modeling, with strong vaporization and condensation, optimizing capital and operational costs for CCS transport systems.
