My journey with SLB started in cementing operations, supporting exploration and unconventional well projects in demanding environments where performance and delivery truly mattered.

The natural next step (after 8 years in the field) was to continue growing operationally. I, however, chose to shift entirely—from well construction to global recruiting.

Why the change? Shaping the people who join SLB felt like it could have a longer-lasting impact than managing a single operation. And it’s a transition that has allowed me to move from executing wells to supporting the teams that do.

After all, this is why SLB continues to thrive, even after 100 years. The company does so much more than dig wells. We also build bridges—between individuals, institutions, and communities. This combination of innovative depth and social bonding transforms our work into a potential much larger than our physical footprint.

That’s not to say my time in well construction wasn’t deeply meaningful. I’m still proud of the ways our team strengthened execution discipline and contributed to revenue growth across unconventional projects. It was intense, rewarding, and formative work.

Now, in recruiting, my colleagues and I have reduced reliance on third-party agencies and built stronger pipelines through universities and embassy partnerships. It wasn’t a visible milestone, but it improved continuity and strengthened how we support operational teams. It deepened our connection to the communities we serve and solidified our investment in future generations.

Our partnership with universities is about creating awareness, building trust, and helping students see that SLB can be a place where their technical background, international experience, and personal ambition meet. Through embassy connections and student engagement, we’re able to reach talent who may not always know how to access global opportunities with SLB.

We show these talented young people that SLB can be a bridge to opportunities and discoveries they’ve never imagined. Then, we help them build it.

What makes this meaningful is that I can connect with students from both sides. Since I came from well construction, I understand the operational reality they’re about to experience. But I also understand the student journey. I studied abroad and built my career through international opportunities.

SLB encourages this level of growth, reinvention, and connection. In my journey, I’ve evolved from field engineer to operations leader to global recruiter within the same organization.

As we celebrate the past century, I’m proud to be part of an organization that builds both wells and bridges. Let’s keep building.
