Not just navigating complexity, but thriving in it
It’s hard to distill my experience into a single point or throughline. I work in legal; and in legal, we don’t have just one experience—we touch and work on everything, with everyone.
Starting as a young attorney supporting North Africa, I was encouraged to lean into complexity, building resilience and adaptability that serves me to this day. My SLB mentors pushed me to grow, refine my leadership, and develop a strategic, long-term vision—a vision to see the whole forest, not just the trees.
An essential skill, I would say, for an operational lawyer tasked with ensuring we execute in accordance with our values.
Every day is a delicate and intricate balance between rules, regulations, ethics, and integrity. But I learned early on that thriving in complexity means counting on the people and communities around you—on diversity of experiences, perspectives, and skillsets. No matter where you are.
Over the years, my journey took me across countless environments and geographies. All of these experiences broadened my exposure and deepened my natural leadership abilities, enabling me to effectively lead and mentor a diverse, talented team as we navigate the same tremendous complexity that I’ve grown to know and love.
And I’ve come to a firm conclusion: On the legal side of the energy field, we don’t just navigate complexity. We live in it.
Actually, now that I think about it, we THRIVE in it.
I recently had the privilege of concluding my Senior Legal Counsel Controls as part of a remarkable group of eight women spread across five continents. We came from different cultures, languages, and lived experiences—but we shared the same vision as to the positive influence of our work.
Working in Legal often means driving critical parts of a process without always owning the whole of it. But this project meant something more.
For me, this wasn’t just about refining a process. It was diversity and vision in action. A demonstration of the talent, resilience, and innovation that define SLB Legal. The experience reaffirmed that by empowering people to think differently—and creating spaces for voices from distinct experiences and backgrounds—our work becomes smarter, stronger, and truly global.
I’ll never stop believing that. And neither will my colleagues at SLB.

Looking back, I can see how the company has shaped me into the dynamic professional I am today. And as I turn my gaze toward our next century, I’m thrilled to play a part in our collaborative effort to tackle future complexities head on. Not just for the betterment of those within our organization, but also for the betterment of everyone outside of it.
