When I reflect on my career, I always go back to where it started. As a young petroleum economics engineer graduate in Algeria, full of ambition and curiosity, I was fortunate to be selected in 2004 to join SLB—an opportunity that shaped the rest of my professional life.

I began in the Subsurface team, working closely with Algeria’s national oil company (NOC), where I met incredibly strong engineers who pushed me to grow and deepen my technical foundation. They supported me, challenged me, and taught me to always aim higher.

I will never forget the training, development programs, and the trust I was given early on to lead teams of all sizes. Or how my family’s support anchored me throughout the journey.

“What motivates me goes far beyond performance metrics … I want to give back the support that was given to me.”

To my surprise, I ended up moving from a rich technical chapter into operations. Confidence and resilience became even more essential. Each challenge taught me something new about leadership: listening before acting, staying curious, and venturing outside my comfort zone again and again.

But it wasn’t until after COVID that I stepped into one of the best assignments of my career. For several years, I had the privilege of serving as Sales & Commercial Manager for the Middle East and North Africa. And it was wonderful. I engaged with multiple NOCs across the region, focused on delivering true value, and led an exceptional team of energetic, dedicated, and inspiring people.

Today, I’m back in operations in Qatar, with an unbelievable amount of diverse experience to pull from.

What now motivates me the most goes far beyond performance metrics. It's about building inclusive teams, supporting others through coaching, and creating environments where people feel trusted and empowered. In other words, I want to give back the support that was given to me early in my journey with SLB.

This positive cycle is what makes us who we are as an organization—a place where ambition is rewarded with support, not skepticism.

As a woman, a leader, and a mother of two, I’ve learned that success isn't about doing everything alone. It's about doing what matters most, with integrity and purpose, and supporting others in the same way you were once supported.

Which is why I thank each and every mentor, colleague, team member, friend, and family member that has been part of this journey. I wouldn’t be where I am without them, or without SLB.

This year, we celebrate 100 years of rewarding journeys like mine and the support systems that make them happen. May we continue to foster such experiences for many more centuries to come!
