Recover damaged or missing downhole components

The heavy-duty releasable overshot of Peak Family™ flow control and well intervention tools improves fishing efficiency by providing a controlled method to engage and disengage from downhole items that lack intact external fish necks. Adjustable reach and interchangeable slips allow the tool to be configured to suit specific well conditions, reducing the need for multiple fishing assemblies and improving first-run effectiveness.

Operational reliability is enhanced through the jar-down-to-release design. When recovery is no longer feasible, the operator can apply a downward jarring load to shear the pins and disengage the overshot. This capability helps prevent secondary sticking events and limits escalation during complex fishing operations.

  • Recovering downhole items with damaged or missing external fish necks
  • Heavy-duty wireline fishing operations in tubing
  • Fishing operations in tubulars with variable internal diameters
  • Runs requiring a releasable alternative to fixed overshot designs
  • Adjustable core to accommodate variable engagement reach
  • Interchangeable slips covering a wide range of outside diameters
  • Slip compatibility across releasable and nonreleasable overshot versions
  • Optional bell guide bottom sub for tubulars with large internal-diameter
  • Jar-down-to-release mechanism
  • Locking core that maintains the release position after shearing

Engage and secure downhole items with precision and ease

The Peak Family heavy-duty releasable overshot is run as part of the toolstring and positioned over the fish. As downward weight is applied, the slips engage the outside surface of the fish, providing the grip required for retrieval. The adjustable core allows the engagement depth to be matched to the fish profile.

If release is required, a downward jarring force shears the pins and activates the release mechanism. Once sheared, the core locks in the release position, ensuring consistent disengagement from the fish and allowing retrieval of the toolstring without further intervention.
