Gas Treat™

Gas processing purification solutions

Features

  • High selectivity solvent for acid gas removal
  • Low heat of reaction with acid gases
  • High chemical and thermal stability under typical treating conditions
  • Low vapor pressure which minimizes solvent losses
  • Lower solution corrosivity compared to primary and secondary amines
  • Fully regenerable with properly sized regeneration equipment

Benefits

Selective Acid Gas Removal

  • Enables preferential H2S removal while allowing CO2 slip where required
  • Well suited for applications upstream of sulfur recovery units (SRU)
  • Supports tight treated gas H2S specifications

Improved Energy Efficiency

  • Lower regeneration energy compared to MEA and DEA
  • Reduced reboiler duty and steam consumption
  • Enables lower circulation rates for equivalent treating performance

Asset Protection and Reliability

  • Reduced corrosion risk to carbon steel equipment
  • Supports longer equipment life and reduced maintenance
  • Stable cyclic operation minimizes solvent related upsets

Solvent Longevity

  • Resistant to thermal and oxidative degradation
  • Lower formation of degradation by products
  • Reduced solvent makeup and disposal requirements

Applications

  • Natural gas sweetening
  • Refinery fuel gas and off gas treating
  • Syngas and hydrogen purification
  • Selective H2S removal ahead of Claus sulfur recovery
  • Acid gas injection and high pressure gas treating

Application and Product Selection Guidance

Application of this product is system specific and dependent on process conditions, equipment design, and treating objectives. Product selection, formulation, and operating parameters cannot be determined solely based on chemical type or nominal concentration.

Appropriate use of this product requires evaluation using recognized engineering and process modeling methods that account for relevant system parameters, including but not limited to:

  • Feed gas composition and flow rate
  • H2S and CO2 content and treating targets
  • Operating pressure and temperature
  • Absorber and regenerator design and sizing
  • Contactor configuration and mass transfer characteristics
  • Solvent concentration and formulation strategy
  • Hydraulic limitations and energy optimization requirements

Final product selection and operating conditions — including circulation rate — must be reviewed and validated by SLB technical personnel to confirm suitability for the intended service and to achieve reliable treating performance.

Use of this product without appropriate system evaluation and validation may result in sub optimal performance.
