Surface chokes for a range of field environments, including extreme service conditions

CAM20-MT and CAM30-MT surface chokes enable configuring the choke trim to match changing well conditions, which are commonly encountered in unconventional operations. In the early postfrac stages of an unconventional gas well, onsite personnel are available to implement the frequent choke adjustments, trim changeouts, and other services required. Later in the well’s life, when the service crews have moved to other wellsites, the choke can be easily automated by fitting it with a powered actuator, which enables remote adjustments.

Available trim options include the Invincible trim extreme-wear-resistant choke trim, made of ultrahard proprietary material and with a useful life 100 times longer than that of standard tungsten carbide trims, greatly extending the time between changeouts.

By using a conversion kit, both CAM20-MT and CAM30-MT chokes can be easily reconfigured in the field—from a manual handwheel to an actuator—while the chokes are in service, thus minimizing NPT. Unlike third-party products, our proprietary system enables reusing the bonnet assembly.
