CemFIT Heal
Flexible self-healing cement system

Maintaining an effective cement barrier between the casing and formation is critical to prevent the communication of fluids between producing zones and to block fluids from rising to the surface. Because the cement sheath is so essential to safety and well longevity, operators often use cement bond logging to evaluate its integrity. The cement barrier can be compromised by pressure changes, temperature fluctuations, or other stresses that create cracks and microannuli. Damage to the cement sheath allows the free flow of hydrocarbons between zones and may significantly compromise well integrity. The CemFIT Heal flexible self-healing cement system solves this problem for the life cycle of the well, from drilling to abandonment. When stress creates cracks or microannuli, the CemFIT Heal system responds to any contact with oil or gas by automatically repairing and sealing itself. This flexibility enables the cement sheath to be resilient and withstand common pressures that would otherwise lead to a failure in the cement barrier. Because it is flexible, the CemFIT Heal system accommodates pressure changes, temperature cycles, and formation stress caused by perforating, fracturing, and other stimulation treatments. The self-healing action is repeatable, ensuring lasting zonal isolation and extending the productive life of the well.
