When the world became my office
"One day, the world will be my office."
Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico, that was my mantra. I didn't just want a career; I wanted a life without borders. I dreamed of navigating a map of the world as easily as the streets of my hometown, building a family of global citizens, and testing my limits in environments I hadn't yet imagined.
Joining SLB didn't just open a door to that dream—it blew the hinges off.
Over the course of my journey, I have had the profound privilege of living and working across four continents. From the bustling energy of metropolitan hubs to the remote intensity of field operations, I have stepped into the world's most stimulating technological environments. Yet, regardless of the longitude or latitude, I discovered a powerful truth: the language of innovation is universal.
Whether I am in a high-tech lab or a remote outpost, the common denominator remains the same: an unwavering passion for technology and a deep commitment to our customer relationships. These bonds are the bedrock of our success, anywhere in the world.
But beyond the technology, my greatest pride lies in the people. I've transitioned from a dreamer in Monterrey to a leader responsible for developing the most talented individuals in our sector. Seeing my team grow, adapt, and eventually drive the industry forward is the most rewarding "continent" I have ever explored.
Such growth isn't accidental. It reflects one of SLB's distinctive capabilities—developing leaders through diverse, global exposure and a culture that empowers us all to stretch beyond what we thought possible.
As the company celebrates its 100-year anniversary, I'm humbled to have contributed my own chapter to this century of progress. The agility and collaborative spirit I find here every day are what keep the dream alive.
People often ask me when I'll "wake up" from this global adventure. My answer? The dream is real, and SLB is the place where it became my life.
