OFM 25.2

Release details

OFM™ 25.2 is a full-install release and supersedes all previous versions. It is available both as a 32-bit and 64-bit application.

New and enhanced features

OFM 25.2 provides the following updates:

Significant performance improvements

  • Improved performance and more responsive experience in large projects and when multiple analyses are open.
  • A new Performance tab in the OFM Options dialog centralizes the settings for performance improvements.
    • Load deviations in the background: When opening an OFM well and reservoir analysis software project, the deviations will load in the background. Users can start to work while the deviations are being loaded. Once the deviations are loaded, the basemap will display them.
    • Column level loading: Column-level loading reads only the columns in the table required to calculate the variables the user requested. This option will not be active by default.
    • Create a snapshot using .csv files: The time to create an OFM software snapshot project is significantly improved with this option enabled. “Check Registry” verifies if registry settings are already set. “Set Registry” will create the registry setting from the OFM software interface (requires administrative rights). This option will not be active by default.

Catalog upgrade
Updated more than 130 standard catalog items to the analysis dashboard format. The catalog contains preconfigured analyses with variables and formatting already applied, allowing users to quickly create common dashboards.

Python analysis plugin
The Python analysis plugin allows users to run a user-defined Python script in an OFM software analysis. The plugin enables users to extend analysis capabilities beyond the software’s out-of-the-box design.

Plugin backward compatibility
Plugins developed in prior versions of OFM software, starting with OFM 21.1, can now run in OFM 25.2 without being rebuilt. OFM 25.2 is the first version to implement backward compatibility for plugins.

Authentication options now include:

  • Windows authentication
  • SQL authentication
  • Azure active directory: Password, integrated, and multi‑factor authentication (MFA)

OFM 21.2

Release details

OFM 21.2 is a full-install release and supersedes all previous versions. It is available both as a 32-bit and 64-bit application. Please refer to the installation guide for installation requirements.

OFM 21.2 builds on the features and upgrades introduced in OFM 21.1 (July 2021), with a focus on the forecast manager and mapping analysis. It also brings a new Rate-Cumulative Analysis for plotting rates vs. cumulative values. The new Rate-Cum Analysis enables better charting of a few specialized line plots.

New and enhanced features

OFM 21.2 offers new functionality and enhanced features in a few key modules.

  • New Rate-Cum Analysis

This analysis provides an improved visualization over the standard Line Chart for datasets plotted with a running sum of both x-axis and y-axis variables for several groups of wells. For example, you can use the Rate-Cum Analysis to generate a

  • rate vs. cum stacked chart, or
  • WOR vs. cum chart

As a result, you can analyze different drilling campaigns or evaluate whether newly drilled wells accelerate production or add reserves.

  • Mapping
    • Added support for loading an image file as an annotation layer
    • Added an option to edit min/max color range values
    • Grid map statistics now updated based on the grid area
    • Wells without location coordinates no longer drawn on the map to reduce rendering time

  • Forecasts
    • Updated Lasso functionality for DCA point selection

  • Forecast manager
    • Added columns for the Display Saved Forecasts and Update End Rate/Ratio tables.

Fitting Equation, Forecast Template, and Entity Type

  • Added support for displaying completion name as Alias
  • Forecasts now displayed in the table based on the current filter

OFM 21.1

Release details

OFM 21.1 is a full-install release and supersedes all previous versions. It is available both as a 32-bit and 64-bit application.

OFM 21.1 introduces a new forecast manager module with auto forecasting capabilities, as well as enhancements to core modules (decline curve analysis (DCA), cumulative distribution function analysis (CDF), mapping and reporting), for better user experience and flexibility. Performance improvements include an upgrade for saving forecasts to SQL servers and for opening projects with very large well counts.

Performance improvements

Performance improvements include:

  • Upgrades for saving forecasts to SQL servers.
  • Upgrades to the process of loading projects with large well counts (initial data loading and opening of the base map).

New and enhanced features

OFM 21.1 offers new functionality and enhanced features in several modules.

New forecast manager with three options for managing production forecasts:

  • Display saved forecasts enables users to view a table with key information for saved forecasts, such as forecast parameters, start time, end time, reserves and EURs.
  • Run auto forecast enables batch forecasting of multiple completions or entities
  • Update end rate/ratio (“economic limit”) provides an option to update the forecast end rate and/or end ratio only, while all other forecast parameters are held constant. This allows the users to quickly evaluate the impact of a new “economic limit” on reserves and EURs.

Forecast module

  • Added flexibility in DCA filtering and datapoint selection.
  • Switch rate date “drop line” available on DCA charts and forecast tables.

CDF Module

  • Display fit curves on the CDF chart.
  • Display P-value location with a drop line on the CDF chart.

Reporting and mapping

  • New index feature that improves plotting and reporting of non-date dependent data.
  • Update of the color scale range for variables in bounded maps (for pattern-level data).
