Background
Khalda Petroleum Company needed to complete a stimulation treatment for a horizontal well in the Abu Gharadig field located in Khalda. During the operation, more than 6,000 bbl of treatment fluid was pumped and executed in different stages. Oil production steadily increased during each stage, from 780 bbl/d of oil after the mud wash stage, to 1,400 bbl/d after the matrix acid stimulation treatment with 2 million ft3 of gas, and 2,200 bbl/dafter the installation of a large choke.
