The initial geological models for deepwater operations are typically based on seismic data, and these models may need to be updated as more wells are drilled and data captured. The compartmentalized and compacted reservoirs present an issue for product and pressure depletion in the field. A geomechanics model, updated with available data, can be calibrated using 4D seismic, pressure transient analysis, and other information to ensure the accuracy of the model.
