Pursue my master’s degree in engineering? Or SLB?
A scholarship to pursue my master’s degree in engineering? Or SLB?
That was the decision I faced back in 2002 and I courageously chose the latter.
It definitely wasn’t the “safe” choice, but I knew I wanted to join an organization shaping the world through technology, a global workforce and endless opportunities. I wanted to jump into an environment that would help me grow beyond what I thought possible.
And that’s exactly what I got.
My journey at SLB started where it matters most: in the field. I spent six formative years across the Middle East before moving into sales, business development, and senior line management roles across Australia and Southeast Asia. Later, I relocated to France to lead SLB’s global evaluation portfolio. That experience opened doors to broader executive leadership roles including strategy and marketing.
I can’t imagine having a career more versatile than this, and I’m eternally grateful to the innumerable leaders that took a chance on me by entrusting me with stretched opportunities. It happened to me; and I feel a deep responsibility to create the same environment for others.
But you know what I find most intriguing? There’s a thread that ties all my unique experiences together…
Jobs and titles aren’t the real goal. Growth is.
Jobs and titles are simply vehicles for a more profound evolution; every time we say yes or no to an opportunity, we shape the path forward. Moving to Paris looked more complex on paper, but it felt right and it became one of the most defining decisions of my career. That role created the runway and visibility that shaped what came next.
I’ve had the privilege of bringing flagship technologies to market, engaging with communities in nearly every corner of the globe, and connecting with more stakeholders than I can count. It’s genuinely breathtaking—and a constant reminder of the responsibility and purpose behind the work we do.
I’m now 24 years into my career at Big Blue and proudly serving as a managing director of SLB Australasia, leading our business across the region. I’m energized every day by the responsibility of driving strategic partnerships, operational excellence, and technology-led innovation to deliver lasting value for our customers and partners.
And it all still feels very much right.
Looking ahead, I’m proud to work in an industry that makes the impossible possible through innovation, R&D, teamwork, and partnership. I believe the next chapter must accelerate progress toward energy that is more reliable, affordable, and increasingly decarbonized—respecting all forms of energy while pushing innovation and collaboration further and faster.
I know these ambitious goals are achievable. And as SLB steps into another century of making them happen, I’m choosing as I did when I first started—to join it in doing so.
