It’s no surprise that hydrogen is getting a lot of attention from the entire industry.

Hydrogen itself is nothing new, but the way the industry wants to produce and use it is significantly changing. This is obviously all driven by COP26 and the commitments to limit global warming because hydrogen is a clean gas as opposed to fossil fuels.

However, hydrogen brings safety concerns with it, and there are still a lot of unknown factors about the long-term effect of hydrogen on materials and hence the functionality of valves transporting this medium.

Combine these concerns with the important expected growth and urgency, and you realize that the industry had better make sure to use reliable and qualified equipment.

Jonathan Geleijns, energy Transition Technologies manager for Valves, discusses the importance of using the right valves for hydrogen service.
