How it improves performance
The LateralMax™ low-solids nonaqueous drilling fluid system is engineered to improve drilling operations by providing an optimized rheology with reduced insoluble solids content. Its unique emulsifier package delivers reliable performance across a broad range of downhole conditions while enhancing wellbore quality. The result is smoother tripping, more efficient casing and liner runs, and overall improvements in operational efficiency.
How it works
The system’s flat rheological profile consistently supports lower ECD and reduced sag potential, both essential for successfully drilling intricate extended-reach lateral wells. Its low solids content is tailored to control viscosity and minimize HTHP fluid loss, enabling more precise management of fluid properties. This precision enhances overall performance by improving hole cleaning and wellbore stability in challenging drilling environments.
Additional information
In the Permian Basin, the LateralMax system supported the operator in delivering the first four-mile laterals while outperforming AFE targets for both cost and days on well. In the Marcellus Shale, the system contributed to record-breaking performance, including a 24-hour footage drilled of 10,184 ft and the longest rig-line lateral reaching 21,285 ft. In the Haynesville Shale, the system nearly doubled the ROP in HTHP wells.
