Overview

In regions with sparse well data, seismic attributes are a key component in distributing properties in a 3D structural grid away from the wells. Petrel™ seismic sampling enables bringing seismic attribute data directly, or in the form of extracted geobodies, into the 3D structural grid.

A channel running from south to north, and passing through wells, after being extracted as a geobody and sampled to the 3D reservoir grid.

With the geobody extraction process you can isolate acoustic bodies identified with the help of seismic attributes.

A geobody can be directly sampled to a 3D reservoir grid and property populated for further volumetrics and simulation workflows.

Porosity values from wells distributed in the grid cells that correspond to a sampled geobody.

Any seismic attribute volume, such as acoustic impedance as shown above, can be sampled to a 3D grid to support geological modeling.
