Mozambique 2D Seismic Survey

2D seismic data covering the whole of offshore Mozambique

WesternGeco, in collaboration with the National Petroleum Institute of Mozambique (INP), holds an extensive 2D seismic data library covering all basins offshore Mozambique. Available to license, this seismic data highlights and illustrates the hydrocarbon potential of the margin, which is a proven prolific hydrocarbon province.

The library of more than 87,000 km includes 36,000 km of broadband data acquired in 2013 and various legacy surveys that have been recently reprocessed to maximize the geological understanding of offshore Mozambique.

2013 data highlights include

Mozambique 2d seismic survey.
The survey includes the extensions to the original program in the Mozambique Channel, south extension offshore the Limpopo River, and the Rovuma Basin.

Our exclusive multiclient data covers more than 87,000 km in a frontier area, the whole of offshore Mozambique, and is now available for potential licensing rounds.

Reprocessing highlights

Also available are 15,800 km of reprocessed time migrated data from the MBWG surveys acquired in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Other reprocessed data available includes a 9,200-km subset of the BP-98, SM-81, and GMC81 surveys.

All reprocessed data includes

  • 2D anisotropic Kirchhoff PSTM
  • Amplitude variation with offset (AVO) and inversion-ready seismic gathers
