Technologies considered for the awards must meet key criteria, including being new, groundbreaking, and innovative, demonstrating proven success and broad industry interest, and delivering significant impact beyond existing technologies.
Two Schlumberger technologies received a 2020 OTC Spotlight on New Technology Award:
The NeoSteer at-bit steerable system (ABSS) is a first-of-its-kind directional drilling innovation that integrates the cutting structure with the steering system. The ABSS is capable of drilling both high dogleg severity (DLS) curve sections and straighter higher-quality lateral sections at high performance in a single run.
The Ora intelligent wireline formation testing platform integrates new downhole digital hardware and cloud-native software. With the Ora platform, operators can efficiently evaluate their reservoirs—even in previously inaccessible conditions—and all the information is provided in context, in real-time, for making confident decisions faster.
