Compact above-tension-ring rotating control device

Applications

  • Onshore
  • Shallow offshore
  • Above-tension rig floaters
  • Managed-pressure drilling
  • Pressurized mudcap drilling
  • Underbalanced drilling
  • Containment

Benefits

  • Remote clamping console eliminates the need for personnel below the rig floor
  • Single sealed rotating system (SRS) saves time during installation and removal
  • Dual sealing elements provide wellbore isolation redundancy for uninterrupted drilling
  • Bearing internal lubrication reduces operational complexity

Features

  • 18¾-in passthrough
  • Redundant, reliable design that requires no wear sleeve
  • Piston land and lock mechanism
  • Integrated sealed bearing assembly
  • Dual sealing elements
  • Single trip deployment of bearing assembly
  • API16RCD compliant
  • Latching integrity (proximity sensors, landing sensor, volume, pressure, overpull test, pressure test)
  • Rotary table installation (49½ in and greater)
  • Single interface connection for hydraulic and controls

How it improves performance

Designed for use on land rigs, jackup rigs, platform rigs, and above-tension rig floater applications, the compact above-tension-ring (ATR) rotating control device (RCD) features an 18¾-in clear passthrough and boasts a proven reliable design. The remotely operated piston mechanism simplifies the installation of the SRS and eliminates the risk of personnel working below the rig floor, allowing for seamless and incident‑free drilling-under-pressure operations.

How it works

With a dual sealing element design intrinsic to the design of the SRS, the compact ATR provides a reliable seal against hazardous wellbore fluids returning from the annulus, redirecting them through the RCD flow spool outlets to the surface MPD system.

Additional Accessories
