Olga FEMtherm

Olga FEMtherm simulates the thermal effects for a general heat transfer problem with nonradial symmetry.


FEMtherm supports effective screening of temperature effects on a wide range of bundle geometries and burial configurations to ensure safe conditions during normal operations. The module also predicts the impact of temperature changes during shut-down and start-up procedures.

Examples of possible workflows

  • Determining the spatial temperature distribution in pipeline bundle cross sections
  • Investigating the effect of thermal insulation
  • Examining heat exchange between pipelines in the same bundle, for example when considering pipeline heating during shut-in or prior to start-up
  • Analysis of the temperature field in the soil around buried pipelines

Transient simulations of heat and fluid flow applications

Uses finite element analysis to calculate temperature profiles and heat transfer for any general geometry
