Offshore Canada, a major operator used the Invizion RT™ real‑time well integrity service, through our Performance Live™ digital service delivery center, together with CemNET™ advanced loss‑control fiber technology to successfully cement a 178-mm [7.0-in] liner despite facing lost circulation before and during the cementing process. The use of this real‑time digital solution achieved the required top of cement (TOC) and eliminated the need for a remedial job, saving the operator USD 3.7 million in remediation costs.

A major operator was experiencing unexpected lost circulation in an offshore Canadian field. To solve this, they needed to cement a 178-mm [7.0-in] liner in place.

To solve this issue, the operator needed to successfully cement the 178-mm [7.0-in] liner to the planned top of cement (TOC) while managing the risk of high losses.

After setting the liner hanger, unexpected lost circulation was detected by the Performance Live Center team, threatening the TOC across the 8.5-in openhole section. CemNET loss-control fibers were added to the slurry, and ECD was managed through the Invizion RT service. String rotation was enforced during displacement, and the pump rate was reduced to maintain ECD and a loss-free rate. These measures resulted in achieving the targeted TOC, eliminating the need for remedial work, saving on lost mud costs, and ultimately saving USD 3.7 million.
