ESG in Oil & Gas: Searching for Answers

Lees Rodionov, Global Director – Sustainability, and Nishant Jha, Director – Well Production Systems, spoke with E&P Plus about the ESG challenges facing the oil and gas industry.

During the interview, Rodionov discusses how ESG is embedded in Schlumberger’s purpose and vision. Rodionov notes, “The vision is we will define and drive high performance sustainably. The purpose is we create amazing technology that unlocks access to energy for the benefit of all." Rodionov also elaborated on Schlumberger's comprehensive ESG program, adding that, while there is a strong emphasis on emissions, the Company is also focused on addressing the need for meaningful opportunities for all stakeholders: employees, customers, investors and the communities in which it works.

In a sidebar video interview, Jha discusses how Schlumberger is working to reduce emissions at the well site. Nishant explains how the Company is using science-based targets as a means to define objectives and set roadmaps that are in line with the Paris Agreement.
