To mark United Nations (UN) International Women’s Day, SLB celebrates the many contributions and achievements of its diverse female workforce worldwide, who continually drive energy innovation.

The 2024 UN theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress,” aligns with SLB core values and culture. In recognition of its success in broadening opportunities for women, SLB is included in a 2024 Greatest Workplaces for Women ranking and is shortlisted for a Transparency Award, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

At the heart of this commitment is improving gender balance, which has long been a focal point at SLB. Today, the company is on track to achieve 25% gender balance in its salaried workforce by 2025 and 30% by 2030. At year-end 2023, women already represented 24.6% of its salaried workforce and 30% of SLB’s executive leadership team.

Progress is accelerated through internal employee resource groups such as Connect Women. This group provides a platform for employees of all genders to collaborate, exchange ideas, promote gender equality, and support career progression in SLB.

To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, a series of Connect Women internal webinars, events, and roundtable discussions is taking place throughout the month of March, both locally and globally. These events bring together employees from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, encouraging dialogue, understanding, and inclusion.

As part of the company’s commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive leadership in the energy sector, SLB women actively participate in industry events, serving as changemakers to accelerate progress.

An upcoming industry event spotlighting the role of women's leadership in securing a sustainable future features Mikki Corcoran, SLB Vice President of Sustainability, as a keynote speaker. Her topic is on driving equity across workplaces, supply chains, and local communities to propel the energy transition forward.

At this year’s IPTC, Aparna Raman, SLB Reservoir Performance President, took part in a workshop on addressing unconscious bias and gender balance to further promote inclusion in the energy industry.

Among the honorees of the 2024 Influential Women in Energy is Lyndal Cissell, SLB President Americas Land, a recognition that highlights the transformative impact of female leadership. She’s also recognized among the Agents of Change in Energy as a driving force in shaping the future of the energy sector.

SLB’s gender balance initiatives are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals #5 and #10
