In 2025, SLB received accolades in two categories:

Drill Bits
SLB’s DualHelix™ multiformation performance bit leverages cutter placement geometry to adapt cutter engagement based on the depth of cut. This bit is more than connected blades with opposite helix direction. Its patented design details ensure ultimate performance in both soft and hard formations. By strategically positioning cutters with variable curvature along the bottom hole pattern, the wake created by the leading cutters optimizes cutting efficiency.

Onshore Rigs
The SLB DrillSync™ automated controls platform provides a comprehensive range of software tools to synchronize surface and downhole parameters and improve drilling operations. It includes fast-loop applications to increase drilling efficiency, equipment applications to improve equipment use, and data analytics applications to provide valuable insights from drilling data. These tools work together to enhance efficiency and reduce the time required for well construction.

The Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation is an annual program that recognizes new products and technologies that demonstrate innovation in concept, design and application. This year, the program recognized 16 technologies across a broad range of disciplines.
