For valves requiring high torque and thrust.

Maxtorque™ thrust-based worm and spur gears provide a number of advantages. The dual-input worm gears are high-ratio, small-envelope solutions engineered for rising stem valve applications that require high thrust capacity, reliable torque transmission, and efficient manual operation. The dual-input arrangement enables operators to use a faster input for travel and a higher-mechanical-advantage input for seating or unseating under heavier torque conditions.

The motorized, high-thrust spur gears are engineered for rising stem valve applications that require high torque, high thrust, and reliable actuator-driven operation. The spur gear drivetrain uses heat-treated steel components and high-quality thrust bearings to deliver efficient, durable performance in demanding industrial service.

Worm gears

  • Manual rising stem gate valves requiring high torque and thrust
  • Applications requiring fewer turns to close and lower rim pull to improve efficiency
  • Large valves needing compact gears to reduce size and piping loads
  • New builds or retrofits needing mounting and stem cover adaptation

Spur gears

  • Motorized rising stem valves requiring high torque and thrust
  • Actuator-mounted multiturn valves requiring efficient mechanical advantage
  • High-load installations needing low-profile gearing
  • Projects needing custom mounting and stem cover adaptation

Worm gears

  • Faster manual operation: Decrease closing turns by up to 4× versus conventional designs
  • Reduced operator effort: Lower input effort via efficient worm gearing and improved ergonomics
  • Compact installation: Fit space-limited assemblies because of small-envelope design
  • Cost-effective alternative: Provide smaller, stronger, and more economical option than large bevel gears

Spur gears

  • Reliable motorized performance: Ensure dependable actuator-driven operation
  • High load capability: Handle high torque and thrust
  • Low-profile integration: Deliver compact, high-torque gearing
  • Application flexibility: Adapt to actuator, valve, mounting, and stem cover requirements
  • Readiness for demanding environments: Available in high-temperature packages for harsh conditions
