Connected control for every flow environment

Controlling the flow of hydrocarbons is critical at every stage of the value chain—from high-pressure production wells and subsea pipelines to downstream processing plants and refineries. Spanning decades of field deployment and evolution, our actuators are built to API standards and tested for extreme environments to empower safer operations, improve uptime, and reduce manual interventions.

For example our industry-first TRL-5-qualified electric actuator lowers your opex by up to 30% by enabling reliable, long-term remote control of surface valves; condition-based monitoring; and predictive maintenance. For the MHQD Series of gate valve hydraulic actuators, which have a quick-connect and -disconnect feature, the position of the actuator piston is easily verified by monitoring visually via a window kit or remotely via a digital connection.

Whether you’re deploying automated wellhead systems in the Arctic or maintaining gas transmission in desert pipelines, SLB provides the actuator reliability and precise control required to meet today’s performance, safety, and sustainability expectations.

Why actuator reliability matters

When actuators are unreliable, the consequences are immediate—lost production, increased risk exposure, and the need for costly field interventions. Reliability is especially critical in the following circumstances:

SLB addresses these challenges by combining deep application expertise with a modular, automated, and API-compliant actuator portfolio, backed by global life cycle support.

Upstream applications—onshore and offshore field infrastructure

Our unique portfolio of API Spec 6A and 6D valve actuators is well-suited for harsh and remote onshore, offshore, and subsea drilling and production environments. Actuators are available in linear and quarter-turn models, in sizes up to 20 in and rated up to 10,000 psi.

Midstream and pipeline applications

We provide a full range of actuators that can operate the largest ball, butterfly, and gate valves for gas and liquid services across all pressure levels. Our product portfolio is also hydrogen ready.

Downstream, industrial, and other markets

Our portfolio includes actuators for process and industrial applications.
