Subsea producers are focused on enhancing recovery. The easy oil has already been extracted, but significant volumes remain untapped. New developments, too, stand to benefit from reducing production uncertainty—especially at the margins of the reservoir. The answer lies in innovative technologies that deliver precise, adaptive inflow control.
Electris™ completions provide this control— helping maximize reservoir contact and optimize inflow from compartmentalized zones. Yet, in many subsea fields, existing production control systems lack the power required to support fully electric solutions.
The Electris completion enablement solution integrates seamlessly with SLB OneSubsea standardized trees and a broad range of legacy vertical systems. It begins with the addition of an all-electric control module, which features an onboard battery that supplies on-demand power to the flow control module (FCM).
A downhole interface unit is installed on the tree and connected to the control module via jumpers. Additional jumpers link the interface unit to the tree’s electric feedthrough system (EFS) outlets.
From there, dedicated conductors are routed through the tree and hanger—via single-pin single-contact or single-pin dual-contact connectors—and linked directly to the twisted-pair electric control line that powers multiple Electris interval control valves downhole.
This system supports an unprecedented number of zones or compartments, enabling maximum reservoir contact and delivering real-time zonal monitoring and control. With Electris completions, operators gain the production intelligence needed to tune inflow, adapt to changing conditions, and boost recovery.
Electris completions extend asset life and enable the economic development of harder-to-reach reserves. Proven yet pioneering, they move beyond the limitations of conventional systems—delivering more from every well, with less complexity and greater confidence.
